Denizens

Beyond competing with the other organization for the technological resources of the Great Southern Wastes you will have to deal with various hostile and neutral factions. Below you will find information on the two major NPC (non-player character) factions featured in Fallout: War Never Changes. The denizens of the Wastes may hold the key to completing a quest or they may just be out to take your head!
NPC Denizen's of the Wastes will be designated by specific arm tape and/or specific costumes- this will be covered in the game briefing.

Raiders
Raiders are any group of wastelanders who pillage, plunder, murder, or otherwise ruin the day of anyone unfortunate enough to not be one of them. If there were still laws, they'd be outlaws. Raiders tend to organize into loose confederations of gangs in the post-apocalyptic wasteland and are a constant problem. Raiders typically prey upon travelers and very small towns, leaving more populous or larger areas alone.

Place in the game: Players can expect to encounter NPC raiders both randomly through the day and in specific areas. Raiders may be friendly, neutral, or hostile depending on the time and the way the players choose to interact with them. Friendly or Neutral raiders can be bartered or bargained with and keeping the raiders at least Neutral can make completing your quests much easier. Some raiders will begin as Hostile or they may become hostile if a player disrespects them, shoots at them, or possibly looks at them wrong.

Raiders follow the same rules as players, gun and body hits count.

Super Mutants
Super mutants are mutated humans, products of infection by the Forced Evolutionary Virus (FEV). They are much taller, bulkier and more muscular than pure strain humans. Most Super Mutants have green, gray, or yellowish skin. They are immune to disease and radiation, and are gifted with superhuman strength and endurance. Although they are completely sterile, the rapid regeneration of their cells caused by FEV makes them virtually biologically immortal (but not immune to death from injury).

Place in the game: Unlike the Raiders, Super Mutants are always Hostile to non-Super Mutants. This mean that if they see you they will attempt to eliminate you, there is no discussion. Thankfully for other denizens of the Waste the Super Mutants are somewhat rare. They will most often be found at set locations (which you will have to discover for yourself), but you may stumble upon a wandering group of Super Mutants, in that case our condolences go out to your next of kin!

To represent the natural strength and resistance to injury Super Mutants are ONLY eliminated through head shots. Hits to the body or gun will NOT eliminate a Super Mutant.
